NEXCAP® offering:

Electronic RFID key cabinet for key management and traceability

NEXCAP® KeyCab is the electronic key cabinet of the NEXCAP® ecosystem: a connected RFID key cabinet. Your keys open your most critical assets: hangars, vehicles, plant rooms, electrical cabinets, restricted areas. Yet they are often still managed with a pegboard and a logbook. With KeyCab, every key is identified and every movement is tracked, in the same platform as your RFID smart cabinets and RFID tool carts.

Two capacities, one design. KeyCab 20 for 20 keys, KeyCab 60 for 60 keys (3 modules of 20), with a 10″ touchscreen, a badge reader and sealed RFID key fobs.

Four simple steps for the user. Sign in with your badge or PIN. Keys you can take flash green; slots to return to flash blue. Take and return as many keys as you need, with no typing on screen. NEXCAP® records who, what, when and for how long.

Everyone gets the keys they need, and only those. Access rights are managed by user group, just like your cabinets: all keys, or a selection by key family or key by key. A contractor or a stand-in gets time-limited access that expires on its own.

Book a key, and it’s waiting for you. From NEXCAP® web, pick the key, the time slot and the users. During the slot, the key is held for them; missed booking or key not returned on time, the right people are notified.

A key never out of sight. Each key is sealed to its RFID fob: the cabinet always knows which key is where. A key returned to the wrong slot turns red, and the checkout only closes once the key is back in its slot. Overdue keys, door left open, removal outside a session: you get an e-mail alert.

An ecosystem, not one more piece of software. Same users, same groups, same reports as your cabinets and tool carts, in the NEXCAP® software. Cloud hosting in Europe or the United States, or on-premise on your own servers. Nexess designs, installs and supports: two months from order to installation.

Calculations
  • Inventory reduction (one-off) = Tools × Unit cost × 30%
  • Inventory savings (per year) = (Inventory min/day/person × 95%) ÷ 480 × Cost/day/operator × Operators × Days/year
  • Transaction savings (per year) = (Tx/day/operator × Avg time/tx × Operators × 95%) ÷ 480 × Cost/day/operator × Days/year
  • Audit savings (per year) = (Tools × Audit min/tool/year × 95%) ÷ 480 × Cost/day/operator × Days/year
  • Avoided purchases (per year) = Annual tool purchases × 95%
  • Total annual savings = Inventory + Transactions + Audit + Purchases avoided
  • First-year savings = Total annual savings + Inventory reduction
  • Cumulative 5y = (Total annual savings × 5) + Inventory reduction
Fixed savings: -30% inventory value (one-off), -95% inventory time, -95% transactions, -95% audit prep, -95% purchases.
