Challenges
- Monitor aircraft maintenance tools in maintenance areas, remote tool stores, and in emergency interventions
- Combat FOD* and safeguard maintenance (*Foreign Object Debris or Foreign Object Damage)
- Optimize costs
- Reduce tool search time
Solutions (project begun in 2021)
Deploy a maintenance system via RFID (Radio Frequency ID):
- Commissioning of XL RFID Smart Cabinets to secure and track all movements from maintenance areas in close proximity to aircraft (Who, What, When, Where)
- Installation of mobile devices using tablets with integrated NEXCAP® MAT (Mobile Asset Tracking) software and RFID guns, in order to conduct inventories of development boxes, as well as tool searches and logistics during mobile or on-runway interventions
- Use of RFID Counters to monitor entries and exits from remote tool stores
- More than 10,000 digitalized tools in a single NEXCAP® database
- NEXCAP® IOT, for collecting information and supervising data contextualized by division on the IntraDef network via a web browser
Advantages
- Over 600 users across 7 divisions and 2 sites generate operational data usable on NEXCAP® IOT in order to make better strategic decisions
- -10% Inventory costs
- +40% Additional productivity:
- Reduced tool search time
- Lower tool loss and downtime
- Monitoring and anticipation of tool calibration
- Generation of maintenance data directly from NEXCAP® IOT
