The XD RFID Tool Cart is a smart mobile tool cart equipped with RFID to perform automated inventory of your tool stock. Based on high-performance RFID technology, the XD Tool Cart provides an accurate management and tracking of your tools: acess control, check in/out, real-time inventory, calibration date traceability and many more.

Challenges

Managing tools is a major challenge in Aeronautics, from their inventory to the risks associated with FOD (Foreign Object Damage) or FME (Foreign Material Exclusion). Each year, tools left behind or lost during assembly or maintenance activities account for 30% of civil incidents and constitute a significant breach of safety. Poorly organized tool tracking can cause a significant loss of productivity: borrowing and return of tools, monitoring of stock and calibration dates, etc. are time-consuming and costly activities.

Smart access control: The XD Roller Cabinet only allows access to its content to authorized persons with an RFID badge. Once identified by their RFID badge, the user can easily access the roller cabinet to borrow or return one or more tools. An advanced locking system prevents manual opening of the drawers. Pin code access is also available (in addition to or as replacement for the badge system).
Accurate, automated inventory of roller cabinet contents: Once the XD Roller Cabinet drawers are locked, an automated content inventory is conducted in 10 seconds. Every tool movement is tracked and time-stamped (Who, What, When, Where) in order to effectively combat the risks associated with tool loss (FOD/FME). Thanks to the benefits of RFID technology, you have a precise and accurate real-time view of your tool inventory, locally or remotely, at any time.
Automatic tracking of Calibration and Maintenance dates: If an abnormal event is detected, the XD Roller Cabinet automatically forwards the alerts to the user interface and to the supervision station. This enables the user to automatically track the calibration and maintenance dates of their tools.
Remote supervision: The XD Roller Cabinet enables accurate monitoring of tool movements (loans/returns, frequency of use, dispatch for maintenance, etc.). This monitoring is available in the form of activity reports which can be consulted remotely via NEXCAP®.
